Diana McKnight has just returned from a visit to Moscow to lecture on the new Advanced Course at Details School which is the pre-eminent school in Russia, housed in a charming and carefully restored 18th century building.
Diana’s lectures included Historic Houses around London, British Designers, Working as a Designer, Holistics and Professional Practice. The latter was keenly anticipated as, at present, the Russian design industry is in its early stages and is not an easy market place in which to work. There was great interest in the work of British designers but it was the holistic lecture, with the focus on the five senses, which proved the most thought provoking of all.
In addition to her lectures, Diana set a tea table for a table setting exhibition organised by Mezzanine Magazine. At the opening, fifteen TV/media organisations were represented and it was an extremely social and elegant event. Her stay also included visits to several key design shops and showrooms and she even tested out some borscht at the highly popular Café Pushkin, which she declared delicious!
Tanya and everyone at Details gave Diana an exceptionally warm welcome and their care and attention was notable.
