Terms & Conditions of Enrolment

Interior Design Short Courses

  • Course Fee Protection: As course fees are non refundable for any cancellations made 4 weeks prior to the start of the course, students are strongly advised to take out course fee protection to cover the full cost of fees in the case of withdrawal from a course due to illness and other eventualities
  • Numbers are strictly limited (and we keep classes especially small for CAD), so please book a place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment
  • If you are under 18 years of age, please contact KLC before making your enrolment
  • Unless stipulated otherwise, these days run from 10.00am – 4.00pm. Please arrive for registration at 9.30am on the first morning
  • Catering – Students on one and two day courses (excluding CAD and Sketch-Up) will get coffee or tea and a sandwich lunch on their first day unless otherwise stated. Students on one week courses will get coffee or tea and a sandwich lunch on their first day unless otherwise stated. While a vegetarian option is made available, we are unable to cater to specific food intolerances or food allergies
  • To reserve a place on any of these courses, payment must be made in full
  • KLC reserves the right to change the course syllabus without prior notice
  • As the school does not have créche facilities, students are therefore not allowed to bring children if they are attending courses at KLC

Any enrolment application by you will be subject to written acceptance by the School.

Please note that some Short Courses require previous experience or specific skills as specified under "Course Suitability".  If you do not have the required suitability, you will not be able to participate in the course fully and, in some circumstances, may not be allowed to attend the workshop.  If in doubt, please check with a Course Adviser.

As the school does not have crèche facilities or child amenities and children are not permitted in the studios/classrooms for health and safety reasons, students are therefore not permitted to bring children if they are attending a course at KLC.

KLC reserves the right to refuse a student admission to a course for unreasonable conduct.

Places on a course are not transferable.

The School reserves the right to cancel a course at any time subject to repayment of any fees received in respect of the course or the part of the course that has been cancelled.

KLC will refund course fees paid (less an administration charge of £20 of the course fees paid) for cancellations made 4 weeks or more prior to the course start date. We regret that we are unable to refund fees under any circumstances for any cancellations made less than 4 weeks prior to the start of the course. (This is subject to your statutory right set out below.)

Students may transfer to another start date of the same course (subject to availability) for an administration charge of £20 if notice is given 2 weeks or more prior to the course start date. Places on a course are not transferable less than 2 weeks prior to the start date of the course.

 

Hampton Court Palace Security

Students studying for more than one day at Hampton Court Palace will need to undergo a security check so that a security pass can be provided.

If you fail the security check by Hampton Court Palace, then the School will refund all course fees paid, but not any ancillary expenses incurred. The School will not enter into any correspondence regarding a failed security check.

If you submit your security pass application later than the given date or fail to bring in the correct documentation and are therefore not issued with a security pass, then KLC will refund any course fees paid, less a 10% administration charge.

Course fees are not refundable and transfers to alternative dates will not be permitted if you forget your pass and are not permitted entry to Hampton Court Palace.

 

Your statuatory right to cancel

You have the right to cancel the Contract (and have all monies paid returned by the School) at any time before the date seven working days after the date of the Contract ("the Cancellation Date"). This right to cancel must be exercised by notice in writing. If a notice of cancellation is sent by post, it can be posted at any time up to and including the Cancellation Date. If you start the course before the Cancellation Date, the right to cancel will be lost.

Please note that if you miss the first day of study for short courses longer than one day, it will not be possible to join the second day of the course without the permission of the Principal. This does not affect the cancellation/refund policy.

All course details were correct at the time of going to "press", but KLC reserves the right to change the course syllabuses without prior notice.

You must not bring any items of special value onto the School's premises. The School will not accept responsibility for the loss of personal possessions. The School will not be liable for any loss suffered by you which is indirect, special or consequential or comprises loss of profits, nor any loss suffered by you resulting from any event which is beyond the reasonable control of the School.

You agree to keep confidential all course materials supplied to you by the School. Copyright and all other intellectual property rights in all course materials belong to the School.

You agree to grant to the School in respect of any work produced by you during the course, a perpetual royalty-free licence to copy and display such work for promotional purposes only.
