Vectorworks Advanced

Develop basic Vectorworks CAD into more Advanced Skills

Where the CPD logo is indicated, these courses would be valuable in our opinion for Continuing Professional DevelopmentThis exciting and engaging 2 day course focuses on more advanced tools and drawing techniques. It introduces the use of Vectorworks Viewports & Sheet Layers as well as using resources available both within the programme libraries and on the internet.

  • SUITABILITY

    Suitable for those who have also attended the Vectorworks Fundamental course. The course is primarily focused on interior design but would still provide the requisite skills for garden design students

  • DURATION

    Two days

  • LOCATION

    Chelsea Harbour

Sharing of drawings with other professionals/CAD users (inc AutoCAD dwg & PDF files) is also covered.

Knowledge of 2D Vectorworks (Fundamentals Course) is required for these two days.

Day 1

  • Recap of Fundamentals course
  • Using Vectorworks Walls, Windows & Door tools
  • Drawing up a room plan
  • Creating & using Design Layers, Classes & Sheet Layers
  • Working with Viewports – annotating & adding dimensions
  • Adding & using Sheet Borders & Title Blocks
  • Converting to (single) PDFs

Day 2

  • Resource Browser part 1 – using Vectorworks resources & adding favourite files
  • Resource Browser part 2 – creating your own library of favourite symbols
  • Importing PDF & dwg files (including using internet content)
  • Naming tips for imported layers/classes
  • Organising the imported drawing & further additions
  • Customising title blocks
  • Working with multiple Viewports/Sheet Layers at various scales/paper sizes
  • Batch converting to PDF, sharing files & printing
