Whilst studying for a degree in Geography at Cambridge University, I got a student job working for Red Bull’s marketing department. After completing my degree I began working for Red Bull full time and after a number of years became the Marketing Director. I used the experience I gained in that role to set up my own Marketing Consultancy.
Later I ventured into a property development with my partner, and we have since completed development of 3 properties including a chic Chalet in Switzerland which we rent out to holidaymakers.
Although I enjoyed working on these projects my passion lay with Garden Design. I have always loved the idea of working outside and looked for a course at KLC that would help me indulge my interest in the subject in a structured learning environment.
The two day per week Part Time Diploma in Garden Design at KLC seemed to tick all the boxes, allowing me to manage my other commitments including my consultancy business while studying.
The past few months on the course have been a steep learning curve, which although challenging has been fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable. I have already developed my own limited company Bestique to incorporate my design achievements in interior and future garden design projects.
The encouragement that you receive from the tutors is fantastic and they are all so passionate about the subject that you can’t help but absorb their enthusiasm.
I feel privileged to be studying in such a historic environment. The practical opportunities and lessons in the garden are so enjoyable and on my way home at night I am driving away from the rush hour traffic which is a real bonus.
Where the CPD logo is indicated, these courses would be valuable in our opinion for Continuing Professional Development
